wow

Today was Frank's (CSer fr Germany) last day in Singapore. So we went cycling at Pulau Ubin, managed to cover the important sights within 3 hours. Pretty exhausting considering that we went to Bukit Timah Nature reserve the day before to trek the toughest trail that it offered us. It was good excercise for lazy me. I'm sure Frank enjoyed himself as i had to stop countless number of times while he went on taking pictures of the flora and fauna there.

One thing that sets him aside from the other CSers was that he liked asking a lot of questions on Islam. Mudah-mudahan Allah membuka hatinya untuk memeluk agama Islam.

Anyways, i find it interesting that he kept reminding me to do my prayers everytime we were outside. He was afraid i would miss it. (:

In the past, i had this fear of excusing myself just so i could do my prayers in private. Doing my prayers in public was simply out of the question. I was more comfortable praying at home or at the mosque. I was naive. As years went by, i became slightly braver. I dared asking permission from my non-Muslim friend before i prayed in their house. When i worked at Vivocity, i prayed at some quite corner (though ppl sometimes pass through there). Praying at some corner of Changi Airport was normal when i went there during nights off. I tried my best to not miss any prayer while in the army. In Europe, i prayed at my host's home and prayed at Heathrow, Barajas and El Prat airport. I began to realise that, yes, we shouldnt be afraid for what we strongly believe is right. When we need to pray, we pray. As muslims, i believe that we should be proud of our religion. Anyways, people dont make a hoohah when you pray in public in Europe. Unfortunately, that's not the case in singapore.

"Alamak, budak ALIM tengah solat SIOL" Yes, sadly, that's we comment we get from our own people. Orang-orang melayu kita sendiri. ):

Im writing this post not to brang but instead hope that it acts as a reminder to myself and others of the importance of praying 5 times a day no matter where we are.

this post is dedicated to my mls friends

Helo my kawan2 malas, oops i meant mls. This entry is dedicated to you guys. I've got something to share dengan korang2 semua. As you know, i quit my job cause i was pissed with the manager yang kate "Oh, actually, you are not allowed to go for friday prayers. Why don't you go after 3pm when your shift ends?" SAY WHAT!?!
And i only asked to be excused for 30 min(1330-1400hrs).

Anyways, i got bored at home and logged onto youtube and i found something really interesting, not sure if any of you have ever came across it. I'm a noob when it comes to putting links in blog entries(ok, don't laugh too hard cause later stomach cramp, lah) so just do a search on Ahmed Deedat on youtube and you will be entertained by him for 3463498623406hrs as his debates with various people will let your mind work itself into uncovering the logical explaination of religion.

Eh, i penat2 type this in the morning so you all better do as i say.. or else.. hur hur hur.. haha!

Ok, and do you know tt the Al-Aqsa mosque and the Dome of the rock is not the same thing. Go do a quick search on wikipedia and you will be shocked not to see the picture of the usual gold coloured dome but instead a silver one. Tak percaya? Go do a quick search, lah.

Besides that, korang semua goggle lah nama Maryam ataupun Mary. Lepastu tengok ape dia pakai. Eh, tu macam tudung tu.

Oh, and what's with the gambar of prophet Muhammad PBUH on wikipedia? Have they not learnt the lesson from that Danish cartoon incident? tsk tsk.

Pretty interesting, lah, when you have LOTS of free time. You get to learn and discover things less known to others. So technically, i'm not wasting my time rotting at home. (:

Oh, all the best to the minah2 who will be sitting for their exams.

i wonder...

Why in the world would i want to work as a waiter and get paid peanuts when i can find other physically lesser job (think A level graduate)?

For the LOVE of it bebeh.

ok, no. I was just kidding.

Seriously, i cannot stand dumb managers who are most suited to be those sexy(NOT) beer aunties at kopitiam.

She says, "Wait i poot poot in the wall then you know!" I say" WHAT!??!"
She says, "You tingg that what the manager tingg what of you when you sit down and cleangg the pork and spoon" I say "Oh, you mean i can't sit while cleaning the utensils. And  how will that reduce my work efficiency?" And she looked down onto her booklet and continued her work.

for my 21st birthday...

Almost everyone born in 1988 would want a perfect 21st birthday party with presents and all. They claim that 'oh, presents are not important.. what's most important is that i have close friends and family members around me..' YAR RIGHT! If that's the case, pls pass me all your presents. Thank you very much, eh. Haha!

Anyways, i am so bored now so i'm going to take this time to list the 21 things that i would really love to get as birthday presents(note: presents, not present). haha! OK, kidding only, lah.

oh wells.

Yes, in case you are wondering, i am still jobless. :(

Out of boredom, I've decided to plan for my next backpacking trip. Initially, i thought of going to Morocco cause of it's exotic-ness and also due to the fact that it is really cheap to travel within the country. OK, the main reason is to experience the richness of the culture Morocco has to offer(now, that's more like it). However, i doubt i can gather enough funds so i decided to look for a place somewhere close to home.

Indonesia? Yes, I've been there twice. Loved it. But this time round i wanted something different. I wanted to go somewhere i would be lost in the rich culture and language of the country.

Ran through some airfare search to Australia. Ouch! Way out of my budget.

Suddenly, it occurred to me. INDIA!(OK, bluff you again. Mama was the one who suggested it) This could be it. YES YES. KASHMIR. Even during summer, the temperature would be cold but bearable(for us Singaporeans). Besides, there are lots to see in Kashmir or Northern India for that matter. Just wiki 'Jammu and Kashmir' on wikitravel. Vast lands stretching as far as the eye can see, mountains with snow-capped peaks, lakes that are probably the size of Singapore(maybe twice or thrice). Now, how can anyone not want to go to a place like this?

So after countless clicks on Abah's spanking-new laptop(hehe!), i came out with 3 rough itineraries. it looks good to me. I've 3 route options to choose from ranging from $1233 to $1963 nett for a 26 days trip. I love the latest itinerary that i just finished doing roughly an hour ago(the cheap cheap $1233 one). It basically just covers Northern and North-east India (Delhi+Kashmir+Sikkim) . Main highlights would be Taj Mahal at Agra(DUH!), Rohtang pass, Leh, Gulmarg, Youmthang Valley andGurudongmar lake.

Everything will be budget-budget, cheap-cheap. Haha!

We've got about a year to save up. Any takers?

I think i can be a freelance travel planner. So those people reading my blog, in the future, if you need someone to custom plan your honeymoon or whatever, please find me. I won't charge much and i don't bite. haha!
